The Roanoke Valley U12 All Star baseball team could not be denied today in the squad's bid for a state championship at the Ledgerwood Athletic Complex.

The local team advanced to today's title game and held an advantage -- they would have had to lose twice to have been eliminated.

That worked in their favor as the U12s dropped the first game 10-4.

They came back strong in game two, defeating Holly Springs, 8-5, securing the title.

The Roanoke Valley U12 All Star baseball team now advances to the Southeast Regionals, which start later this month.

The victories follow an exciting two days for the team, which came from behind to defeat Cashie 11-6 Saturday morning.

They trailed 5-0 in the first inning and battled back for the win.
