Capita Travel and Events makes key appointment | Buying Business ...

Capita Travel and Events has appointed Paul Boyle to the new role of chief operating officer.

Boyle, who has been at Carlson Wagonlit Travel for the last 12 years, will be tasked with ?ensuring operational excellence?to enhance the Capita Travel and Events customer experience?.

Capita is now the 4th biggest TMC in the UK with annual sales of ?525 million in 2012 according to BBT?s list of the 50 Leading TMCs. It made the leap from 6th place in 2011 after purchasing Expotel last year.

James Parkhouse, business director at Capita, said ?Paul?s expertise as an industry innovator and experienced manager of change will take Capita Travel and Events to the next level on its journey to create one powerfully unique business. We are delighted that Paul has agreed to help us achieve this.?

Boyle has been working in business travel for 20 years and recent roles within CWT have included director of operations for UK and North Europe, director of account management and as a general manager within the Asia Pacific region. He will join Capita in his new role on July 1.
